In the spring of 2019, I was asked to do a portrait of our late son-in-law, K9 Officer, Ryan Copeland, of The McFarland Police Department, by his mother. I knew it wouldn’t be an easy task for obvious reasons. Ryan was killed November 23, 2015 while on duty in a head-on crash just miles from his home.
I decided to go ahead with it, though. Upon becoming a member of the elite Green Beret and Army Special Operations team, Ryan sacrificed much in life while deployed in the war on terror. Later he was instrumental in becoming McFarland’s first K9 officer along with his partner, Boris. I felt I owed it not only to his mother but also to Ryan and myself. God’s peace, Ryan.
I have had a passion for art for nearly 45 years. I have done numerous commissioned works and participated in many gallery showings. I have sold my original work and prints to buyers worldwide. In 2015, I was honored by winning 1st place in the state wildlife division of the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association competition with the painting "Silent Sentinel." If you have an idea for a personal painting, I would be happy to talk about it as well. Just contact me with your idea. Thank you for taking time to read this and browse my collection.
