Climate change has increased the distance between shore and summer sea ice at an alarming rate. Polar bears are forced to make these marathon swims of 50 to 200 miles to reach sea ice in search of food. At times the ice is not even visible at the horizon. Some attempt this incredible feat with their young but many of the cubs don't have the strength to make the journey and drown in the open sea.
I have had a passion for art for nearly 45 years. I have done numerous commissioned works and participated in many gallery showings. I have sold my original work and prints to buyers worldwide. In 2015, I was honored by winning 1st place in the state wildlife division of the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association competition with the painting "Silent Sentinel."
